Reporter: Do you fit that (Knicks) system?ĭD: Oh yeah I think every player love playing under D∪ntoni. I got a good feed from it and everything but like I said its just time to sit back and watch to see what happens. Reporter: You did a solo workout for New York, how did that go for you?ĭD: It went real well. Whats coming ahead in the NBA and everything its really preparing me. Reporter: Are you tired of the traveling?ĭD: No, thats I think that something that got get used to. Reporter: Highlight of this process for youĭD: just traveling, working out for a lot of teams yk that was one of the major highlights for me really enjoying that having fun wqith that and just sitting back and see what the process do Im not really worrying about where Im going, whatever situation I get put in, thats the one Im going to go with from there. I havent talked to him since, but Ill probably talk to him soon.ĭX: How important is it for you to get drafted high?ĭD: Its important to me to get drafted period. ![]() I talked to him a couple of weeks ago before the whole situation turned out like it did. ![]() It also gives them a chance to see what you improved on.ĭX: Do you think they feel the same way about you not doing competitive workouts?ĭD: I think its great that they get to see me go through repetitions in all of the drills they have set up for me and how well I do with all of them.ĭX: Have you talked to Tim Floyd at all lately?ĭD: No, not lately. I worked out for the teams that I felt were most interested in me and thats what Im going to go with.ĭX: In hindsight, not doing competitive workouts, is that going to be a mistake if you wind up slipping a little bit?ĭD: Not at all I think doing individual workouts gives the GMs a chance to see everything that you worked on, especially in regards to what they think your weaknesses are. Have you worked out for them or thought about them at all?ĭD: No I didnt work out for New Jersey I didnt really put any thought into it. If it comes down to that they know talent and its up to the GMs to decide who they want.ĭX: What are you hearing from Toronto in terms of what they might be doing?ĭD: I havent really discussed it specifically with them. You really wont know what is going to happen until draft night.ĭX: The fact that you didnt work out for Minnesota, could that come back to haunt you now that they have two picks?ĭD: No, Im not really worried about it. Im starting to get a little nervous because you never know what is going to happen next.ĭX: How much do you think the trades have changed your draft situation?ĭD: I think it changed a little bit of everything every more is going to affect every player. They just can’t lose him for nothing.Demar DeRozan: Im just anxious, theres so much going on already with the draft because of the trades. Or they could explore trade options for the veteran this year. The Bulls should definitely bring DeRozan back, but not for that much money. Remember, the veteran will be 34 years old by the start of the season. But with the new collective bargaining agreement in place and the current state of the Bulls roster compared to the rest of the Eastern Conference, paying DeRozan that much money for that many years might not be the best decision for Chicago’s future. “Today is the first day that DeMar DeRozan is eligible to sign a contract extension with the Chicago Bulls.ĭeMar can sign up to a four-year, $179 million extension with the Bulls,” Greenberg tweeted.ĭeRozan is fresh off a second straight All-Star season in which he averaged 24.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game while shooting 50.4% from the floor and 32.4% from behind the 3-point line.ĭeRozan is a solid player - an All-Star. ![]()
